INTERVIEW POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
INTERVIEW LIMITS: You may request up to ten employer interviews. The minimum number of interviews granted per student is one.
DEADLINE FOR INTERVIEW REQUESTS: Tuesday, May 26st.
1. A limited number of Interviews will be available: Employer information will clearly indicate if an employer is conducting interviews for a paid, externship or volunteer position.
2. Sign-up procedures: Sign up procedures are the same for all interviews. Interviews are scheduled at twenty-minute intervals and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Interview time slots will be assigned by an automated selection process.
3. Resume prescreening: Employers will not prescreen resumes. However, some employers require you to submit your resumes prior to being interviewed. If you sign up with an employer that has requested your resume you will be notified immediately.
4. Interview Times: Since interview times will be assigned by CLEO, you must be available any time between 9:00 am and 1:00 p.m. on June 14th. CLEO reserves the right to revise interview schedules in order to accommodate employers or address other relevant issues.
5. Interview confirmations: Final interview confirmations will be sent to you via e-mail on June 7-8, 2010.
6. Update your resume and polish your interviewing skills: If you do not have a resume or need to update your existing one, please visit your Law School Career Services Office now. They have been informed about the CLEO Career Fair and are available to assist you in preparing your resume and practicing your interviewing skills.
7. Bring extra resumes/request unofficial transcripts/prepare or select writing samples: Students and alumni participating in interviews must bring resumes and are advised to bring unofficial transcripts and a writing sample. Writing samples should be no longer than three to five pages in length. Bring one resume for each employer with whom you sign up to interview (mock or actual). Bring extra resumes for information tables and the evening reception. There will be many networking opportunities.
8. Attire: Dress in business/interview attire.
9. Event check-in: Check in at the CLEO registration table on the day of the event to confirm your interview(s) or sign-up for available ones (alternates only). Employer table locations and the interviewer names will also be available at that time, if not before.
10. No shows: Avoid "no shows". Those who do not show up for interviews without notice will be requested to send a written note of apology the employer. As a rule of courtesy, you are reminded to sign-up only for interviews for which you intend to appear. Please be mindful that CLEO is just beginning to establish relationships with potential employers. How you represent CLEO will be critical to increased employer participation in future Career Fairs.
11. Call-Backs/ Interview Follow-Up: Some employers routinely see candidates for second interviews or "call-backs" in their offices. In those cases where employers do request a second interview, such arrangements (including travel expenses) are to be handled entirely by CLEO students or alumni and employers. CLEO will not pay for or reimburse any cost related to subsequent interviews gained through the Career Fair. Be sure to respond in a timely and respectful manner to callback requests and job offers, whether accepting or declining. Everything you do reflects on CLEO and impacts future Career Fairs.
